BDPA

Our studio core values are of great importance to us, because; they are the foundations in which we stand on. They guide us to ensure we stay on the right path, to make it possible for those who choose to embark on a journey to discover the performing arts and themselves, to fulfil their dreams and goals whatever they might be. We realise that everyone has their own reasons to be part of a dance or performing arts studio and that what they take from it along the way is personal to themselves.


Making the journey personal but including everyone

To ensure we bridge the gap for all who pass through our studio and give them the mental attributes and skills to apply not only in dance but in everyday life.

To celebrate and reward each other by being supportive, caring and kind.

To promote a growth mindset and teach in a way we all can learn.

To ensure students are prepared to a high standard in performing arts.

Our Team

Have a huge personality 
They use an engaging "teacher voice" with enthusiasm and are friendly. Students appear to be excited to talk to them and happy to be in their class. They understand how to speak to them in a way that makes them feel comfortable and excited to come.

Are ambassadors of the school both inside and out
They understand their actions effect the reputation of the school and remain professional, caring and supportive through their daily lives

Are good with our clients 
They connect with parents on a professional level, work positively and understand the lines needed to maintain a good relationship without becoming personal. Keeping conversation and interaction about the school. Working to be inclusive of all clients who attend. 

Are well prepared 
They have correct knowledge of terminology and are able to demonstrate moves. Teachers are fully engaged in the teaching process and not mentally absent or sitting down.

Are good teachers 
They understand progressive teaching techniques and build on skills ensuring the entire class is getting better, and are always seeking personal professional development in their field. 

Are creative 
They use creative activities to keep class moving and the students look forward to what they might do next.
They understand how to "put on a show". 

Have a plan 
They are confident and prepared in their lesson plans. They have the structure of the class organized down to the last second without wasting time with fillers.

Care if students get better 
They offer hands on help and critique throughout the class. They stop dancers when they are doing something wrong and they offer advice and adjustment. They reward progress, not just perfection. 

Care about their teammates 
They assist each other with open and close. They share responsibilities and work as part of a fair team. They are flexible in their schedule and willing to help coworkers, including substituting their fair share.

Our students

At BDPA we love to see all our students celebrating TEAMWORK by all wearing FULL CORRECT BDPA UNIFORM.
 
At BDPA we expect our students to follow classroom etiquette. 
 
At BDPA we expect students to be PUNCTUAL to class. 
 
At BDPA we love LEARNING. We realise that every correction is making us better at our skills 
 
At BDPA we WORK HARD, because we realise that you only get out what you put in.
