Claire Lloyd founded BDPA a decade ago, to enable her to do what she loves as a profession, keep learning herself, whilst teaching and mentoring students and staff. Claire grew up dancing, performing, competing and has three decades of knowledge and experience. She decided to open her own studio, once she had settled with a family of her own, so that she could be committed to her student’s and the studio’s progression. Base Dance has grown massively over the years in many ways, with the local community. Claire has adjudicated and provided services to schools in the local community, and is a recognised teacher with CDMT and a member of various dance awarding bodies. She has received awards for her choreography and the technical ability of her students, from examinations to regional, national and world competitions. Claire is also a member of the dance studio owner’s association, which is worldwide.

Over the years I have helped out and taught in BDPA, I have developed a passion to pass on my knowledge and teach others within the dance setting to allow them to grow as dancers and watch their progressions every week. While training at BDPA, I received a Grade 7 in GCSE dance and currently continuing my journey at LMA in Liverpool. In the future, I am currently looking at different Universities to further my education to eventually run my own dance school and pass on my knowledge and training BDPA has provided me with.
